WOO MINIMUSEUM: CONNECTION
August 2021 - April 2022
I researched, designed, produced, and hosted an interactive and immersive art exhibit as my senior capstone project. Each of the five installations were based on stories about acts of love during times of separation, unease, and distress. In addition to the installations I made, I also user tested with visitors to understand what they expect, their previous experiences with interactive or immersive exhibits, and what they thought could be improved.
A (QUICK) HISTORY OF INTERACTIVE AND IMMERSIVE MUSEUM EXPERIENCES
February 2022
To better understand the trends of museum visits and experiences, I researched how collectors and curators showed their exhibits from the 1600s through the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in 2022. That's a lot of history to cover in just over 5 minutes, but I did it! Here is my final presentation for a class on the History and Future of Interactive and Immersive Media.
MONSTERS INC. DARK RIDE DESIGN
January 2022 - March 2022
In seven weeks, I researched and designed a dark ride for Disney's Monsters Inc. I drew inspiration from three of their popular dark rides: Indiana Jones, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Buzz Lightyear. I also wanted to draw in elements from their video game, Disney Infinity, to incorporate newer media within the Monsters Inc. universe.
A JERSEY FOR HELMUTT
June 2021
For the duration of six months, I worked in a student development team in collaboration with the Worcester Art Museum to design an app for The Iconic Jersey exhibition. I worked as the project manager, co-vector artist, co-UI designer, and user testing coordinator through this project. This app is available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store (linked below).
STORAGE ROOM STORIES:
CREATING AN ONLINE ARCHIVE TO MAKE MUSEUM COLLECTIONS MORE ACCESSIBLE.
October 2020
Myself and three other WPI students remotely worked with the Hönnunarsfn Museum, located in Reykjavík, Iceland. Through the span of sixteen weeks we designed an online archive that features two interviews with local artists whose works are in the museum's storage. This project aimed to make their collection more accessible to the public as well as research the connection between Icelandic artists and their national identities.
CRAFTING A NEW HOME: REFUGEE ARTISANS OF WORCESTER-CRAFTMAKERS AT WORK
October 2019 - January 2020
Over the course of ten weeks, I filmed and edited a video for the Refugee Artisan's of Worcester's (RAW) 2020 exhibition at the Worcester Center for Crafts. People often do not think about craftmaking as a form of art, so RAW hoped that by including a video showing the artisans as they worked, visitors would see the dedication and skill involved. I had the privilege to film ten refugee artisans as they were crafting, and in the process I learned about more about different cultural customs and the journey that refugees face.
